Crochet has taken the secondary school by STORM and FOR VERY GOOD REASON! It’s the creative calm that brings a whole heap of joy!
Having taught for over 5 years at a local girls Grammer school I can certainly say this is one craft that is perfect for years 7, 8 and 9, and of course us adultfolk!
Over the course of the sessions the beginners will be introduced to the starting blocks of crochet, we will then develop their new found skill to include double crochet at which point we will get cracking on a very special project - their very own crochet bag! The learning curve is fairly steep to begin but soon their hook will be permanently attached to their hand (what a nice change to the screen thing!). They will be able to choose their own yarn colour from Bobbiny and I guarantee their creation will be something they will hold VERY dear!
The intermediates will delve into the world of magic circle (the proper way!), increasing and decreasing. Once they are a master of this art they will start on their project - a rather magical PLUSHIE! With a choice of options depending on their level they will have their very own, enviable, take home keepsake!
Each student will receive their very own project bag and hook to carry on the addition at home!
